Jekyll Island is One of Our Favorite Places

A new day begins at the beach

At sunrise we have compamy while taking our pictures

We stroll along beach and notice footsteps in the sand

The whole of Jekyll Island, Georgia is a state park. Commercial development is severely limited. It is therefore a tranquil place to visit. The whole island is blanketed with bicycle paths. At times we enjoyed riding along the beach, or through the wooded areas without our having to cope with automobile traffic. We visited a beach covered with driftwood from long-ago storms.

Eli was able to snap a picture of a beautiful heron in the marsh before it flew off

As the day ends it was a short drive west to the bay side of the island and a view of the setting sun
