TAKING  PICTURES IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA

We were excited about the prospect of attending another Elderhostel devoted entirely to photography--and what better area than Southern Arizona with its remarkable scenery!!  Jeff. our instructor for the course, is a successful photojournalist. He took us to  beautiful areas at just the right time of the day to get the best pictures. The sessions devoted to instruction were very informative and those given to critique of our work were most helpful and kindly done. On these two pages I have included just a few of the many pictures we took.

On the first day of the Elderhostel, after a morning devoted to instruction, we were taken to MacDonalds Farm where we primarily took pictures of the local cactus (Seguaro) . Since we stayed there for a cookout supper we were also able to photograph the beautiful sunset.

On a cold, clear day we boarded the bus to take pictures in three locations around Sedona, Arizona. We took pictures at Bell Rock, Slide Rock Park, and Red Rock Crossing and found that the red cliffs in the area created spectacular scenery.

The tree is not growing upside-down. It is reflected in a pool of water.
