GRANDFATHER  MOUNTAIN  IS  A  DOMINANT FEATURE  IN  THE AREA  WHERE WE  LIVE

 

Driving south along Highway 105 you can envision a face in the profile of Grandfather Mountain.

 

Facing Grandfather Mountain, along Route 105 , you are sometimes able to see the hanging bridge and the building on the upper parking lot to the left of  the bridge.

The Mountain can be seen from many locations throughout the area.

 

 

Sometimes you can see the clouds form over Grandfather Mountain.

These pictures were taken at the upper parking lot on Grandfather Mountain two days after a snowfall.

 

 

Driving up Grandfather Mountain we enjoyed the views of the mountain and of the wildlife along the way.

 

Early June is a beautiful time on Grandfather Mountain.
