Part 2 -
WE PHOTOGRAPH SOME OF THE BIRDS OF COSTA RICA |
| We saw many, many birds during our
trip but were only able to photograph a few of them. We were able to catch
glimpses of shore birds during the various boat rides. The hotels put out
bird feeders that attracted a variety of birds and we were then able to
get close enough to take some pictures. I am including two pictures of
butterflies taken at a butterfly garden. |

The hummingbirds at the feeders were
a delight to watch but rarely stayed still long enough to have their
picture taken. |
| Sometimes we were lucky enough to
spot birds resting in the trees. There are tiny birds eating at the feeder
placed atop a dead tree but they were easily scared away when we tried to
move closer. |

There were many, many birds resting
along the shorelines, and when it was late in the day they assembled
together to roost in the trees. |
| It was a delight to watch the Macaws
at their mating ritual in the trees. |
|
The butterflies were
unharmed and rapidly flew away. |
